Key updates from Strategic Planning effort, more information to come
After service October 5, representatives from the Strategic Task Force presented our progress on the 2025 Strategic Planning work. Here are some of the key points from the presentation:
- Late last year, Advent received a personal financial gift to conduct a congregational survey and work with a professional coach to gain insights through a strategic planning effort.
- A strategic task force consisting of staff, council and at-large congregation members was formed and maintains its work through today.
- Advent conducted a survey from February 23 to March 13, to which we received 217 responses, similar to our weekly in-person attendance numbers.
- Based on the results from that survey and further interpretation and demographic information, Advent’s leadership created a revised list of values and strategic initiatives for the organization to consider ahead of an annual meeting vote.

- Continue forming Initiative teams and action plans to assess current states of these initiative areas at Advent and create work plans and timelines.
- Share a draft strategy document with the congregation and offer opportunities for further conversation.
